JARCHEMY (a little of jars)
ITEMS USED:
LARGE JAR=128 OUNCES
SMALL JAR=8 OUNCES
PLASTIC BAG OF PROPORTIONATE SIZE
FLEXI-STRAW
COPPER WIRE
PAN FOR WATER AND FINISHED APPARATUS
JARS ARE BEST SUITED TO OUR WORK BECAUSE OF THERE EASY ACCESSIBILITY AND AFFORD ABILITY , ASWELLAS THEIR BEING MADE OF GLASS.
FOR MOST OF OUR WORK WE WILL USE REGULAR MASON JARS, OR SOME VARIETIES OF SPAGHETTI JARS, AS OUR TRANSFER, RECEIVING, AND COLD EXTRACTION STORAGE VESSELS.
A HOT EXTRACTING APPARATUS CAN BE MADE FROM TWO JARS, ONE SUSPENDED FROM THE MOUTH OF THE OTHER. FOR EXAMPLE: A 32 OUNCE JAR WOULD HAVE A 2 OUNCE JAR SUSPENDED, USING COPPER WIRE, FROM IT'S MOUTH. A 64 OUNCE JAR WOULD HAVE A 4 OUNCE JAR , HANGING ABOUT ONE-FOURTH TO ONE THIRD OF THE WAY DOWN FROM THE TOP OF THE LARGER JAR. A 128 OUNCE JAR WOULD HAVE A 8 OUNCE JAR PLACED INSIDE OF IT, BEING OUR LARGEST EXTRACTOR-DISTILLER.
COPPER WIRE IS WRAPPED AROUND THE TOP OF THE SMALL JARS TOP, JUST UNDER THE GROOVES, TIGHTLY. THEN THREE PIECES OF COPPER WIRE OF EQUAL LENGTH ARE SECURED TO THE PREVIOUSLY ATTACHED COPPER WIRE CIRCLE, AROUND THE TOP OF THE SMALLER JAR. THE THREE PIECES OF WIRE ARE PLACED APART IN SUCH A WAY, AS TO RESEMBLE A TRIANGLE WHEN LOOKED ON FROM ABOVE.THE WIRE IS BENT, IN LIKE MANNER, OVER THE EDGE OF THE LARGER JAR.THE TWO JARS ARE NOW ONE UNIT.
NOW A CORNER FROM A PLASTIC BAG , IN PROPORTION TO THE SIZE OF SETUP USED, SHOULD BE PLACED TIGHTLY OVER THE MOUTH OF THE BIG JAR, SO JUST THE CORNER OF THE BAG HANGS -TIGHTLY- DOWN INTO THE SMALL JAR, ONCE IN PLACE SECURE THE BAG THATS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BIG JAR DOWN BY USING A RUBBER BAND.(DON'T FORGET IT CUT BOTH ENDS OF A FLEX-IE STRAW, SO THE WHOLE THING EQUALS ABOUT 3 INCHES, TO ACT AS AN AIR AND GAS RELEASE .(UNDER THE PLASTIC BAG CORNER).
ONCE ALL OF THIS IS DONE SOME ICE AND WATER ARE PLACED IN THE FUNNEL SHAPED BAG CORNER- ON THE TOP OF THE BIG JAR, THE ENTIRE APPARATUS IS THEN PLACED IN A PAN OF WATER OVER NO MORE THAN MEDIUM HEAT, ON AN ELECTRIC STOVE TOP, AND WE HAVE COMPLETION.
